Steffan awoke to his heart pounding, his breath coming in gasps. He had an awful sensation pressing in on him, as if someone or something sat on his chest. He sat and tried to get his breathing under control.
He must have had a nightmare. No wonder, what with them going to track down Celine in four days. It was a dangerous thing he and the other warrior males were doing. A nightmare wouldn’t be so unusual, although he normally slept well these days, the scent of his mates soothing him.
Then it hit him.
The scents in his room were wrong.
Horribly wrong.
Mia was missing.
